Supplement for Performance: Beta Alanine

The supplement industry is a multi BILLION dollar industry. So many supplements will do absolutely nothing for your performance, aesthetics, and vitality goals. However, just because many supplements are a scam doesn't mean there aren't some nutrient out there that cannot help you get to your goals faster. Olympus Athletics is committed to helping you understand the key ingredients that will help boost your performance and health so that you can reach your goals faster.

Beta Alanine, What's that?

Beta-alanine is an altered version of the amino acid alanine.

What does it do?

“When beta-alanine is ingested, it turns into the molecule carnosine, which acts as an acid buffer in the body. Carnosine is stored in cells and released in response to drops in pH. Increased stores of carnosine can protect against diet-induced drops in pH (which might occur from ketone production in ketosis, for example), as well as offer protection from exercise-induced lactic acid production.”

This basically means a small increase in strength-endurance. Lets say you can normally get 8 reps with a certain weight. Depending on the person, you may be able to squeeze out another 2-4 reps with this supplement. What does that mean? Increase in performance.

Over the course of a training cycle however, this will boost your ability to lift more weight for more reps, which will equal into building muscle and losing fat, making this an Aesthetics supplement as well.

How much do I take?

For intense weightlifters, take 2000-5000 mg pre-workout.

For the average Joe just doing cardio or light weightlifting, take 800-1000 mg

Of course Dosage is always dependent on a person's weight and size, LBM, and tolerance. I suggest starting with a low dosage and working your way up.
