Powerlifting team

THE OLYMPUS POWERLIFTING TEAM IS ALL ABOUT COMPETING AGAINST YOURSELF WITH THE SUPPORT OF YOUR TEAMMATES. IT IS NOT ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU LIFT, BUT ABOUT THE EFFORT AND CONSISTENCY YOU ARE WILLING TO INVEST IN YOURSELF AND YOUR TEAM. WE TRAVEL ALL OVER THE COUNTRY TO COMPETE AND WE BELIEVE POWERLIFTING IS A GREAT VEHICLE FOR SELF IMPROVEMENT AND HEALTH PROMOTION. IN THIS SPORT, YOU CAN FOCUS ON CONSTANTLY BEATING YOUR OLD NUMBERS. DO THAT LONG ENOUGH, AND YOU WILL LIKELY BE COMPETATIVE AGAINST THE PEOPLE IN YOUR AGE, WEIGHT CLASS, AND COMPETITIVE DIVISION. COMPETE AGAINST LIFTERS IN YOUR CATEGORY FOR LONG ENOUGH AND YOU WILL LIKELY BECOME STRONG ENOUGH TO BEGIN CONSIDER TRAINING FOR A STATE, NATIONAL, OR WORLD RECORD. BEING A PART OF OUR TEAM IS A LONG TERM COMMITMENT AND NOT SOMETHING TO 'TRY OUT' FOR. IT IS ABOUT GROWING YOUR SELF FIRST, THEN BECOMING STRONG ENOUGH TO COMPETE AGAINST OTHERS. AS A TEAM MEMBER, IT IS ABOUT SUPPORTING YOUR FELLOW TEAMMATES TO DO THE SAME AND BEING THERE WHEN THEY NEED YOU.

TEAM REQUIREMENTS

INTERESTED IN JOINING OUR POWERLIFTING TEAM? WE HAVE A FEW REQUIREMENTS TO CONSIDER BEFORE YOU CAN BE CONSIDERED A PART OF THE TEAM:

INITIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- COMPETED IN AT LEAST 3 USPA OR USAPL POWERLIFTING COMPETITIONs. 1 national/world championship required.

- MINIMUM OF 1 YEAR ON OUR COACHING SERVICE/SYSTEM

- COACHABLE AND GOOD COMMUNICATION W/ COACH AND TEAM

- EFFORT AND CONSISTENCY ON YOUR PROGRAM

- Be/Act like a 'Team Player' with a good attitude and support for the team/the Gym events, competitions, fundraisers, etc.

ONGOING REQUIREMENTS:

- WILLINGNESS TO TRAVEL FOR TEAM COMPETITIONS, EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT COMPETING.

- CONTINUE COACHING BY AN OLYMPUS COACH (AT A DISCOUNTED RATE DUE TO TEAM STATUS)

- BE A HANDLER FOR YOUR TEAMMATES WHEN NEEDED

- ATTEND OLYMPUS ATHLETICS EVENTS

- REMAIN COACHABLE AND DEDICATED TO THE TEAM

- GET ALONG WITH YOUR TEaMMATES (KEEP IT DRAMA FREE) OR AT LEAST BE WILLING TO 'WORK IT OUT' WITH A TEAMMATE IF YOU HAVE A DISAGREEMENT.

-MAKE 100% OF PEAKING/COMPETITION PREP WORKOUTS AND MAKE 90% OF WORKOUTS IN THE OFFSEASON (PROGRAMS CAN BE ADJUSTED DOWN TO 2-3 TIMES PER WEEK, BUT IT IS IMPORTANT TO HIT ALL WORKOUTS IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE A SERIOUS ATHLETE!)

- PROMOTE OLYMPUS ON SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS
